Han Shot FIRST! Luke MISSES! No Part IV! Film at 11 (err Sept)

Lucas arts to release Star Wars Trilogy on DVD in Original Theatrical Release version!

http://www.starwars.com/episode-iv/release/video/news20060503.html

Because I will be the first to file a class action suit if it's advertised as the original theatrical release and it's not. ;)

Note: I saw Star Wars at it's opening weekend in Los Angeles at the 20th Century Fox Silver Screen Cinema (who's exact name escapes me) in 1977. I was 9 years old. It was cinema perfection with Hardy Boys haircuts!

That's the only way to see those movies, in my opinion. None of this, "Let's edit Hayden Christensen into the end of Return of the Jedi".

Three words: Han Shoots First (and so does Captain Tightpants)

I don't think it was opening weekend, but it was late May, early June. My father took me for my birthday.

The following five? Opening weekend, if not opening night.

And count me in on the lawsuit.

I remember someone writing after Phantom Menace came out that they wanted to sue Lucas for custody of the franchise as he was an unfit parent.

Lucas and Spielberg are back working on Indiana Jones. Maybe Spielberg pointed out that he released E.T. with the original and updated versions together, and it worked out just fine.

Took them long enough, but the demand (read: money) was there, so a triple-dip was inevitable.

Now if they could get the rights sorted out on Blade Runner and get both versions out on DVD....

I saw the original Star Wars movie before it opened on a press pass, and was pretty much blown out of my seat. Still have the promotional picture book tucked away someplace. But I'm not a fan of anything that Lucas has done with the series since then.
