Friday Five Time

1. Is the name you have now the same name that's on your birth certificate? If not, what's changed?
Well, isn't that a topic to catch my eye. From a legal point of view, my name is exactly as it appears on my birth cert. However, the name that I publicly use has been changing over the last 5 years.

2. If you could change your name (first, middle and/or last), what would it be?
Happily, for once I have answered a question in advance of a Friday Five posting. First, here is the a journal entry I made in early June that answers the question, "WHY is your name?" Collapse )

3. Why were you named what you were? (Is there a story behind it? Who specifically was responsible for naming you?)
G--- was supposed to be Gilbert after my paternal grandfather. In Judaism, you never name a child after someone who is living. That is bad luck. Thus the obvious lack of Schlomo Abromovitz, the Gimmelth. Sadly/Luckily, Gilbert died 18 days before I was born. It was too soon. It was also a good thing I was a boy, because as a girl I was slated to be Gillian Drew (pronounced with a hard G not a J)

4. Are there any names you really hate or love? What are they and why?
Actually, very little love or hate of names. People on the other hand...

5. Is the analysis of your name at accurate? How or how isn't it?
Incredibly creepy!
