All of my pictures are on my cell phone which makes it a pain to get them off quickly or conveniently.

Well, I looked out the front door and it was there. White stuff. And since I'm not in L.A. anymore, but in fact the Norman Rockwell hamlet of Snohomish; I can be assured of two simple facts.

1. It is not cocaine
2. It is snow

For those that didn't know, I consider myself a Pennsylvanian. I spent 30 years combined in both states of Pennsylvania. 15 years from the age of 1 to 16 in the state of Eastern PA and 15 years from 16 to 31 in the state of Western PA. (Pennsylvania residents will understand this two state mentality. California residents should too)

I moved to San Diego during Thanksgiving 1998. The last snow out my front door that I saw was in fact January of 1998 (It was a warm winter). Now, I've seen snow since then visiting places like the mountains to the north of L.A., Minneapolis, but seeing it outside the door... that is different. That is more 'real' I guess.

I guess in a way it's comforting... which is odd as I listen to the associated song...

I feel good.

So, tonight we needed to run into the city to deal with some paperwork with our local Body master for the OTO.

Translation, we went into the city to exchange paperwork and it turned into several hours of good red wine, chat, and hanging out with babalonyieh and regulus666. I have also discovered that once I get past the second glass of red wine, the next 6 glasses go much more easily. I discovered this also to the amusement of jnanacandra. Well amusement and mild annoyance when my penchant for topic related stories became digressions that wouldn't let her speak. So muchly bonding (that's bonding not bondage) with our LB officers. (Also got to see all to briefly matertiamat) Inits in November are gonna be fuuuuunnnnnn :-D

I have to admit, that I really like regulus666 and babalonyieh. (I like matertiamat too, but didn't get to hang out with her as much.) But the people I did spend the night chatting with... I like them more and more the more time I spend with them.

As you can probably tell from the writing style... still a touch of alcohol in the system. (See we started with this killer sweet desert wine)... I'd say I'm about 70+% to sober now. :-) I had a bottle of water on the ride home along with a muffin. (Blueberry I think). Had two pieces of bread once I got home. We'll see how miserable I feel in the morning :)

With luck next week we'll get to hang with jonah777 and family.

So, a neat fact. I am in fact typing this on my laptop. I am doing so, because one of our neighbors has open net. Personally, I'm hoping that it is not our net.

It would seem that with a month's warning. Verizon activated and hooked up our Broadband DSL business line. However, just for fun... The hooked it up to the wrong unit.

So... no phone, no lights no motorcar.... Oh wait, that's Gilligan's Island.

Our little Island... it has lights and a car... Matter of fact... we're gonna go find dinner.

Movers arrived. As usual there was confusion between what I thought we'd told them we'd have packed vs. what they believed they'd need to pack. *sigh* Never can go without a hitch, eh?

So, shortly we should have professional movers descend upon us.

Here's our schedule:
Thursday (today): Movers, Panic, then a quiet evening with new friend mmorena
Friday: Dentist, house cleaning, carpet steaming, Pack car.Take recyclables and old equipment away, Dinner with old friends, Change DNS on all servers, Computers down and pack into car.
Saturday: Drive to Washington. (We're living about 20-40 min NE of Seattle)
Sunday: Morning- Fall into house. DirecTV. Computers Up

Ah yes, Directv here was a snafu. They will come out Sunday and place a new dish on the house for us. We leave the old one in L.A. Of course, I didn't think about this and scheduled it the day we arrive. The TV won't in fact make it for up to 2 weeks. I can't reschedule at this point due to the time proximity. sheesh

Monday: New Insurance (auto/rental), Register car. Pick up WA Driving Guide.
Call movers, find out when delivery is.

So, the plan with the computers is the neat part. I have full time servers for about 4 different organizations including my own company. The DSL and IP addresses are theoretically up and running at the new site. If my plan works. I will change the DNS routing on Friday night. Drive Saturday, and by the time I arrive in Seattle, I should just plug them in, change the IPs and the machines should just be back up.

Yeah... In theory, theory and practice are the same...

So,it's now noon. The movers were due here at noon or as early as 10am.

jnanacandra has just gone running for food. I think we're as ready as we're going to be for the movers. I am just hoping that everything we plan to take in the vehicle will fit in the vehicle.

Little woozy, but that mey be just the 3.5 hrs of sleep and lack of food.
